Could anyone tell me if their is a commercial source for MRK-16. We
have been using the 4E3 antibody (Signet laboratories) to detect the
surface expression of the p-glycoprotein. It has worked exceptionally
well on our positive control which is the NIH-3T3-MDR cell line,
however on our leukaemic patients we have a very low incidence of
positivity. This is very different to reports in the literature which
are +/- 40 to 60% and very different to the results we have using the
Rh123 efflux assay (Thanks to all those in the group who gave me
advice on setting this up). So now we would like to compare the 4E3
antibody to MRK-16 as this seems to be the antibody of choice.
Does anybody have any comments. Thanks in advance.
Love Glenda.
