REGARDING Platelets activation

Dear Fellow Cytometrists:

We are running a leukapheresis (LP) blood assays on the flow cytometer and in
some cases we encounter platelets activation problems where we are unable to
gate them out especially if they cross link WBCs.

What are the different procedures to stop platelets from being activated
during handling?
