It is possible to fix platelets for the analysis of activation antigens on
their surface. There are at least three mixtures out. Two are commercially
available from Sarstedt using their syringe system. They supply two types for
plt activation, one fixes and the second stabilizes for further activation in
vitro like ADP stimulation. They are based on work from Dr. Tschoepe at the
diabetes research institute at Duesseldorf in Germany. For the analysis of
intracellular cytokines and activation antigens in platelets please check the
very recent paper from Sedlmayr in cytometry.
