The trusty Ammonium cloride lysing solution is made up as follows:
Weigh out 8.29g NH4Cl plus 1.0g NaHCO3, dissolve in 1l distilled water and
adjust pH to 7.4.
The BD stuff has some secret formula which includes formaldehyde and
diethylene glycol. With the ammonium cloride lysing solution use 10 parts
lysing solution to 1 part blood. The white cells remaining are unfixed and
viable. Prepare yourself for many replies to this one!
By the way what was your embarassing problem?
