General comment on paraformalddehyde...I've used histo grade formalin for
years as an alternative to paraformaldehyde, with good results. Parallel
samples fixed with either paraf. or form. yielded similar results; formalin
preserved size paramenters and morphology as well. Plus...it's cheaper,
stable, easier and not as toxic to handle.
