I would like to use gating analysis more or less as implemented
in WinMDI but for data sets which come from NON-flow-cytometry
applications. I find WinMDI limiting because
(1) it operates on
2^n channels instead of arbitrary range (e.g. it labels x, y
axes between, say, 0-255).
(2) My data doesn't not come in FCS format but rather in netCDF
or ascii format.
(3) I have possibly 30-60 variables which I would like to analyse.
I think that the software developed for flow-cytometry has to be
subset of what is being done in statistics but I was not
able to locate a general purpose graphics package which would
do similar analysis, yet.
