Paraformaldehyde fixative

To the list,
Does anyone have a favorite recipe for paraformaldehyde as a
fixative for membrane antigens? I have gotten recipes from several
sources which range from the ridiculously complex to the ludicrously
simple (i.e., 1% paraformaldehyde in Dulbeccos's PBS). My question is
what should I take into account when selecting a fixative recipe and
what should I avoid (I will be fixing peritoneal cells for B
lymphocyte markers).
Any input would be appreciated.
