The successful candidate will use state of the art flow cytometers in support of
drug development in infectious disease, oncology, and inflammation.
Responsibilities include:
designing biology experiments
operation of flow cytometers and sorters
data analysis
tissue culture
development of novel cell analysis protocols
The candidate will be expected to work independently in a multi-user core
cytometry group. The MCI group provides an innovative environment with the
opportunity to make significant contributions to Chiron's basic and
developmental research projects.
The requirements are:
BS/MS in a biological science
2-5 years experience in flow cytometry
expertise in a wide variety of analytical and sorting applications,
especially cell cycle and apoptosis
Skills in computer-based data analysis, immunohistochemistry, and in situ
hybridization are also desirable.
