In response to Jim Phillips' comments about filter specifications, it is true
that longpass, shortpass, and bandpass filters are specified with an
orientation orthogonal to the light source, but dichroics are normally
specified at the wavelength they split at when mounted at 45 degrees, the
normal situation with dichroics.
