combinatorial chemistry and cytometry

I am asking on behalf of a colleague of mine if there is some expertise in
our scientific community using cytometry and sorting for the purpose of
combinatorial chemistry.
Frequently combinatorial chemistry giving rise to a variety of structures is
performed on solid support as beads but can also be performed in solution.
If done using resign-beads, binding to receptors for instance of one or a
few of chemical structures formed, must be detected in a screening process
and the beads with with the fitting chemical structure have to be isolated.
A suitable bead size provided and for instance the technology of sorting
could be used for this purpose.
Is there some knowledge about the technology and either literature or own
experience present to give some first steps aid as to combinatorial
chemistry in general, beads (size, chemistry manufacturer), use of
cell-sorters (type, orifice-diameter. etc.) ?
