I'm using DOS TCP/IP provided by a sysadmin here, and I haven't had a
chance to check w/her to find out if it's really shareware or something we
have a license for. I believe the package is CUTCP, from Clarkson
University. I have installed it on each PC, and use it in a peer-to-peer
fashion. I was _planning_ to use a Compaq 486DX266 as a file "server"
(really more as an archival site) but I've found that some ftp transfers to
and from this box take 1000X as long as from my other 486's. As usual, I
have too much else on my plate to really track the problem down. I don't
use it for printer sharing, and another printer is the next thing on my
list.
