This is being made available as a beta-test release so that users who wish
to test it can report any last-minute bugs to me for fixing before 3.4G is
officially released.
MFI 3.4G adds no major features to those present in 3.4F. Rather, 3.4G
"polishes" the program, improving function, consistency, and performance.
The tutorial and on-line help have been revised to reflect all changes in
the program.
Perhaps the most important change is that 3.4G will run comfortably in 450K
of DOS memory. Therefore those users who had to modify their boot
configuration to remove some normally resident programs/drivers will
especially benefit from 3.4G.
The range of cytometers supported has been expanded, many minor
enhancements were made, and all known bugs have been fixed.
The file TIMEKINE.EXE also available in the beta.dir contains a fura-2
ionomycin kinetics file kindly made available by Eric Van Buren. Run MFI
on it with the included MFI.CFG to see some nice kinetics dot plots not
possible with the earlier version of MFI (and for the moment, still not
possible with WinMDI, at least using a reasonable number of dots).
