Flow and Image Cytometry -- to be held at Dartmouth Medical School from 27th
July through 1st August, 1997. Brochures with application forms are in

TENTH ANNUAL CLINICAL COURSE ON FLOW AND IMAGE CYTOMETRY
SUNDAY, 27th JULY -- FRIDAY, 1st AUGUST, 1997
AT DARTMOUTH MEDICAL SCHOOL
DARTMOUTH-HITCHCOCK MEDICAL CENTER
LEBANON, NEW HAMPSHIRE, USA

WHAT: The Tenth Annual Clinical Course on Flow and Image Cytometry will be
held this year at Dartmouth Medical School in New Hampshire, USA. As in past
years, the course will include hands-on laboratory work in small groups,
expert lectures, and opportunities for informal discussion. Emphasis will be
on basic theory as well as its practical application in the clinical
laboratory. Topics covered will include:
leukemia/lymphoma phenotyping;
platelet and reticulocyte analysis;
FISH analysis and chromosome painting;
tumor imaging for DNA, proliferation markers, and hormone receptors;
multiparameter cell cycle and ploidy analysis;
quality control and standardization;
immunodeficiency;
CD34 stem cell analysis;
leukocyte functional assays;
apoptosis;
transplantation.

WHO: Participating faculty will include Drs. Kenneth Ault, Bruce Bagwell,
Nigel Carter, Zbigniew Darzynkiewicz, Charles Goolsby, Paul Guyre, James
Jacobberger, Norman Levy, Katharine Muirhead, David Murray, Gregory Stelzer,
and Carleton Stewart.

The Course will be limited to approximately 40 participants. It is directed at
those individuals with some experience in flow or image analysis;
participants can expect to gain a broadened understanding of both the theory
and practice of clinical cytometry.

WHERE: Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, including both Dartmouth Medical
School and the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, is located on a new campus in
Lebanon, New Hampshire, a rural New England town on the Connecticut River.
Lectures and laboratories will be held at the Medical Center. Accommodation
and social events will make use of the neighboring facilities of historic
Dartmouth College.

HOW MUCH: $990 (increasing to $1100 after April 15th) to include course
material, dormitory accommodation for 5 nights, 5 breakfasts, 6 lunches, and 4
