FDA-Esterase

Fluorescein diacetate (FDA) is a substrate for many different nonspecific esterases in human tissues. The different rates of hydrolysis for acetate esterases make them useful in differentiating leukocyte cell types. Acetate esterase activity has been found to be high in normal monocytes, megakaryocytes, and some blast cells.
