Place: San Jose Convention Ctr., San Jose, California USA

Conference Chair: Robert C. Leif,Ph.D., Newport Instruments

CoChairs:
Daniel L. Farkas,Ph.D., Carnegie Mellon Univ.;
James F. Leary, Ph.D., Univ. of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston;
Howard M. Shapiro, M.D., Howard Shapiro, M.D., P. C.

The focus of this conference will be on advanced technology for flow
cytometry, image analysis, and cell separation including cell sorting.

The suggested topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

- new analytical parameters and probes
- new methods for cell separation
- high-speed sorting and analysis of cells and other biological objects
- multiparameter cell analysis
- new digital image analysis technology
- advances in confocal microscopy
- new components for analytical cytology instrumentation

This conference is just one of more than 80 conferences to be held at the
Photonics West '96 symposium. For those researchers and engineers who
design and develop instrumentation, this symposium has the added advantage
