Analysis of Nuclear Antigens
PCNA, is a protein involved in DNA replication and in nucleotide excision repair.
It can be found in two forms:
- one is tightly bound to the chromatin and is S phase specific
- the other is cytoplasmic and is present through out the cell cycle
PCNA expression in intact cells is not cell cycle specific. PCNA expression in the nuclei is S phase related.
